Edinburgh Cookery School of Food & Wine (ESFW) is set on the stunning Newliston Estate, just outside Kirkliston near the city of Edinburgh. Surrounded by a patchwork of open countryside, the estate is located just off the M9, making it easily accessible from all major cities across Scotland. Specialising in both short cookery classes and a full-time culinary academy, where many of the region’s top chefs have trained. They have made a habit of exceeding expectations at every level since they were establishment in 1986. Not only are they the oldest cookery school in Scotland, they we are regularly voted as the best. Also one of only three Cookery Schools in Scotland which is Accredited by ‘ICSA’ (the Independent Cookery Schools Association) for their teaching standards.

The school is housed in a large former Coach House, providing budding chefs plenty of space to get to grips with culinary favourites. Diners can also enjoy lunches and tasting menus in The Bell Tower, prepared with seasonal local produce. They are also proud to be a zero waste-to-landfill school, making use of every part of the produce they cook with, one of ICSA core values, to reduce food waste.

Operating from our home on the Newliston Estate, close to Edinburgh and easily accessible from all major Scottish cities, they cover all aspects of culinary education, as well as providing regular outside catering services for weddings and other large events.
