James Day commented: “Our research has shown that people want that ‘added-eXtra’ from an experience at a restaurant, hotel or cook school. They ask us where they can go that is ‘really special’. Our gourmet-experiences.co.uk website and books celebrate the British hospitality industry and showcase the best that money can buy with added extras that money cannot.
“The ultimate goal is being able to make a difference and encourage aspiring gourmands to learn, inform and inspire by purchasing the GourmetXperiences that suit their desires. Choosing from our simple sections of ‘EAT, STAY, DRINK, LEARN’ each showcasing unique British elements. Encouraging them to dine out and try new places, new products and new British GourmetXperiences. Sharing along the way with others, via discussions and social media on how they can help improve and support Great British producers.”
Supporter of Gourmet Experiences and Love British Food ambassador Raymond Blanc OBE said: “I passionately believe that it is up to each of us, be it consumer, chef or hotelier, to make a responsible choice.”
Campaign group Love British Food has been sending out the ‘Buy British Food’ message for the past 15 years, encouraging and supporting consumers, retailers and caterers to source food from Britain during British Food Fortnight and all year around.
Chef Michael Caines MBE, who writes the foreword for the GREAT BRITISH GourmetXperiences guide and is also featured talking about his experience creating Lympstone Manor, in Devon, added: “A gourmet experience is about much more than simple food and sustenance.
