Scott Paton is head chef at Boringdon hall, in Devon. A rising star, he has been given South West Chef of the Year, awarded 3 AA Rosettes and was named Best Chef at Food Magazine Reader Award 2017.

Scott started his kitchen career as a pot washer at The Jack in the Green gastropub in Essex, aged just 15. He worked to become pastry chef and eventually rose to head chef at The Horn of Plenty, where he leads a team of six chefs. He took over as head chef at the luxurious Boringdon Hall Hotel’s The Gallery Restaurant in 2016.

Boringdon Hall has been meticulously restored to retain original features while ensuring every mod con. It is a 40-bedroom 16th century manor house hotel which centres on the best food and drink served as an intimate, classic and memorable dining experience.

Changing with the seasons, the menu at the Gallery Restaurant is where Scott showcases fine dining using only the finest locally sourced ingredients.  Heavenly seasonal dishes are complemented by a boutique wine list and hedonistic cocktails.

For Scott, taste and colour are priorities. He isn’t a big fan of food as theatre with billowing clouds of dry ice, preferring to make memories through fabulous flavours and visually stunning vibrant hues including some fiendishly good desserts.
